Descrizione
From Riva di Tures (Rein in Taufers) the carriage road continues with bends entering the Valle dei Dossi until it reaches a bridge next to a parking site. It is necessary to continue taking the road going on the right and crossing the Knuttenbach. After a couple of km going up and leaving on the right a little group of houses (Ebnerhof) you arrive, in the wood, to a very little clearing near a sign indicating the path [8A] where the car must be lelft.(very little parking space!). The broad and easy path, starts the slope staying in the wood with coniferae and bushes of rhododendron. gaining altiude rather steeply in the valley side, among a thick vegetation. After neary half an hour of walk the path walk round the shore of a steep meadow and then goes up to reach the Unteren Kofleralm. From here, again winding with less incline, staying again in the wood and crossing several beautiful torrents, the walk leads to the bucolic big open space where the Oberen Kofleralmis built (2191 m.). The itinerary goes ahed having the landscape getting more and more wide in the direction of the great rocky and iced summits of the Vedrette di Reis (Rieserferner) going through clearances strewn with rare trees and dotted here and there with little pastures. The track, now lebel, is fitting exactly the form of the mountain, it crosses other torrents, heading decisively to the head of the valley. A last more steep slope in the direction of the terminal cirque, close to big rocky faces, drives to the delightful plan of the Urprungsalm (2396m). We are now on the geographical right of the river coming from the big glacier of the Collalto (Hochgall).
After a brief descent among grass and marshlands, a big circle towards right is started, always in direction of the terminal cirque reaching then the junction with the path nr. 8 coming directly from Riva di Tures (Rein in Taufers). The path (Hartdegen) goes ahead among big rocky blocks, detritus and large smoothy plates with some latches(beware of the snow, expecially during season starting!). After crossing the following little valley and going down owing to cross a deafening torrent on a woody bridge si scoprono finalmente le grandi pareti del Collalto (Hochgall).
